Announcing Michigan Air Tour 2013!
Plans for Michigan Air Tour 2013 have been finalized. This year each stop on the MAT will be an overnight stop so that we can spend time in the communities. There are some great activities planned including a "mystery activity" in Rogers City. For those traveling from out of state, out of the country, or those that just would like to get started "early" on MAT '13, there is an optional overnight stop on Thursday in Caro.
There is a limit of 50 aircraft that will be allowed to participate on the tour, so you you'll want to register right away. Any registrations received after that point will be placed on a wait list in case there are any cancellations. You may cancel and receive a full refund of your registration fee up 30 days before the tour. Details about the Air Tour can be found on the About Air Tour page and a flyer can be downloaded here.
We invite you to join us on MAT’13 as we celebrate aviation in Michigan.
FAA Safety Seminar at PTK in April
The Michigan Aviation Association is sponsoring an FAA Safety Seminar at the Oakland County International Airport (PTK) Terminal Building on Saturday, April 20th. The seminar will be focused on owner performed maintenance. This will be an informative session and it has the added benefit of helping you actually save money on maintenance for your aircraft. Coffee, juice, and bagels will be provided. The seminar qualifies for the WINGS program and best of all it's FREE. You can register for the seminar by clicking here.
Airports mean Business - For your Community
Join the Michigan Aviation Association in supporting airports. Airports are a vital part of our economy. Michigan's 236 public use airports, and numerous private airports facilitate the contribution of over $10 billion annually to the state's economy. Airports serve the the public interests by being able to provide such things as emergency response and preparedness, community access, business support, industrial support. economic activities, and support for tourism. And yet the average person sees their community airport as a drain on the local economy rather than as an asset.
The MAA has started a program across the state to help make the economic value of community airports more visible to the public. To find out more about the program and how you can help, click here.
